bluedeblue Posted December 16, 2016 Hi, I just ran a scan, and among the very first folders I noticed it scanning was "Program Files X86/SurfSideKick 3. I didnt recognise name so googled it and its malware . But I checked, and that folder doesnt exist on my computer. Scna comes up clean (apart from cookies). Is the program just checking if that folder exists, or is there something else I should check? Thanks
GuiltySpark Posted December 16, 2016 Are you sure you checked the ProgramFilesx86 folder and not the ProgramFiles folder? You should have two.
bluedeblue Posted December 16, 2016 Yes, the folder doesnt exist in either Program Files or Program Files 86. Also have show hidden folders on, so it cant be hidden. So could it be SuperAntiSPyware checking if the folder exists or something, or any other explanation?
geoff Posted December 16, 2016 Hi bluedeblue, Good question. Some of the feedback shown by the scanning progress in SAS does indeed show items that the scanner is looking for. It depends on the internal type of malware definition SAS uses. Anyway, your assessment is correct and there is nothing to be concerned about. Thanks, Geoff
