Shadew Posted February 20, 2016 My friend was looking for a new anti-spyware, and asked which one I used. I told him, and he supposedly went to download it. About 45 minutes later he's claiming he got a koobface trojan from downloading it. Is this possible? What should he do to get rid of it?
GuiltySpark Posted February 20, 2016 If he downloaded it from the official site it wouldn't have been infected more than likely he received it from a fake flash player update.
SAS Malware Research Posted February 22, 2016 Hello Shadew, I agree with GuiltySpark that downloading from our official site should not have infected your friend's system. Just to make sure, could you have your friend submit a support ticket? We can then run a diagnostic and investigate further. Gabe
