exbrooklyn Posted February 14, 2016 Updated definitions this morning before running a weekly scan and this thing shows up - hack.tool/Gen-Patch - and the scan stops dead. An error message pops up stating the app has stopped running and windows is going to shut it down. I tried twice with the same results. Also tried a couple other apps to run scans and it doesn't even show up in those programs. I cannot find ANYTHING about this malware ANYWHERE on the web EXCEPT for the SUPERAntiSpyware site. There is NOT one word about it anywhere else. I checked definition logs and virus encyclopedias on at least a half dozen sites and there is no mention of it. So IS this thing a real threat? Why can I not find anything about it anywhere and how the heck do I get rid of it??? I tried to attach a screenshot but this site won't let me.
GuiltySpark Posted February 14, 2016 Hi can you run SAS in Alternate Start mode?
SAS Malware Research Posted February 16, 2016 Hello exbrooklyn, I'll need a little more information in order to determine whether this may be a false detection or not. Could you submit a support ticket so we can get some more info from you? Gabe
