johnpd Posted January 5, 2015 After running a "Quick" scan with SuperAntiSpyware, my Microsoft Office 2010 Help becomes disabled. I have to get into Internet Explorer and reset all IE settings in order to get it working again. I have attached a screen print of the message I get when I try to bring up Office Help after running an SAS scan. I can easily reproduce this by bringing up Office Help before running SAS (it works at this point), then run a SAS scan, then open Office Help again at which time I receive the error noted in the attached file. What is SAS doing to Internet Explorer settings during a scan? II have the latest free version of SAS installed and Windows 8 and IE 10 on my PC. JohnD The message I get when I try to open Office Help is: "This page is unavailable The page you are looking for is unavailable. To view this page, you may need to connect to Office.com, where you'll find the full range of help articles, videos, and training courses."
GuiltySpark Posted January 5, 2015 Hi johnpd Try this; Find the MS Office Help files usually they would be in C:\ProgramData\ Look for the folder Microsoft Help Rename it MS help.old Open Control Panel and select MS Office 2010 Select Uninstall/Change When given the chioices select Repair Re-start your computer and navigate to C:\ProgramData\ Highlight the MS help.old (or whichever you've renamed it) and Delete it. johnpd Posted January 6, 2015 It is a little more complicated than that. Help is in "Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Help". There is a bunch of subfolders there. I don't know which one applies to Office. Once I fix Help using the IE Reset Settings, I have no problem as long as I don't run a SAS scan. JohnD
