josephrot Posted November 16, 2014 Topic title says it all, the SAS Pro version CHM Help file on user's local machine is woefully outdated It's dated 2007, and here we are in 2014 using the current version 6.xx, and we have a VERY old Help file that has no Help topics covering the new interface and the various new options, etc.Case in point is "Activate Scan Boost / Low Boost/High Boost", but there are many other examples of "missing help".Two somewhat "critical" questions:1. Is there a 2014 CHM Help file available, and if so, should it not automatically come in during updates ?2. Shouldn't the CHM Help file be callable / displayable from within SAS ??JoeA Proud SAS Pro Lifetime license userEmail OK to use: info@windowgroup.comSkype: joerotello
nighthawkext Posted November 20, 2014 We haven't distributed a CHM help file with SAS in a long time. There is no current CHM help file. My guess is that you have an old version of SAS that has been updated.
josephrot Posted November 25, 2014 Don... We have been proud (and we mean it) SAS members and paid users since 2008, likely more the reason that the CHM file is dated 2007. And yes, we have updated the major versions properly since then. 1. If you took much of the on-line Help and translated it into a CHM file callable from within SAS, that would go a LONG way to more easily (never is) solve the need for updated Help on the user's local machine. 2. Would ALSO help cut down on the user support needs, as users would not always need a working Internet connection to both use and gain SAS Help. Perhaps one of the Pro users that delves into publishing might assist by taking the on-line Help and translating it into a CHM file callable from within SAS ??
