if you select Tools and Settings in the SAS program and select Uninstall Unwanted Programs, is there anything listed?

If so, highlight each PUP and select Uninstall Selected Item.

Unfortunately, Portasolosites does not appear or is identified in Installed Programs, Settings where I can remove o delete it but it does appear as the homepaage for both Explorer and Firefox, that is what is frustrating. I have heard it is a virus and will corrupt the PC

Download DDS and post both scan logs here, that way we can see what we're looking for and where the issues are arising.

Surprised adwcleaner doesn't find it, may have to do some checking on that in a test environment soon.

entpbob,

I just ran a test by installing portadolosites into my FF browser on a test machine and ran adwcleaner, it removed it with no problems.

You do have a few components that need removing and could be the cause for your issues.

iWin Games (remove only)

Octoshape add-in for Adobe Flash Player*

PC Magnum 1.0.0.19
PC Matic 1.1.0.50
PC Matic Super Shield 1.0.0.45
PC Pitstop Info Center 1.0.0.16

Snap.Do

Ideally use RevoUninstaller in Advanced Mode if during the uninstall an application asks to restart select No.

Then select Next and select the items it discovers (I tend to select all) and select Delete.

Follow this procedure for each of the items to remove all traces.

Then download adwcleaner and run it as stated above.

Then download CCleaner and run the Cookie cleaner function to remove any temp files lurking.

Do you consider PCMatic, et al not safe? Can they be part of the problem? Up until now they have detected and removed some very bad stuff.

I am having cataract surgery tomorrow, 5/1, and again on 5/8 so I probably won't be on the PC that much. If I can't get the problem(s) resolved by then I will be back in touch. Thanks for your help.
