curiousmon Posted November 9, 2013 Hello, I'm new to SAS and I tried searching for my questions, before opening this new topic. However, I couldn't find the answers I were looking for, unless I wasn't searching properly. Then, I would like to humbly apologize. So, here are my questions. I was configuring the scanner option on my SAS and there are two things I do not understand: 1). Why is the "Ignore files larger than 4 MB" checked? If I uncheck it, will my scan be slower? 2). What are non-executable files and why is it checked to be ignored?
nighthawkext Posted November 11, 2013 If you do not ignore files larger than 4MB, you scan could be much slower depending on the type of files you have on your computer. The vast majority of malware is contained in files smaller than 4MB. However, it won't hurt for you to try scanning with it unchecked. Non-executable file are files that cannot be run on your machine. For example, pictures, document, ... Again, the vast majority of malware is contained in files that are executable.
