nosirrah Posted July 31, 2007 SAS works well with Antivir . Antivir is free and has both outstanding defs and heuristics . It also now has an option to start its scan with a heuristic rootkit scan . I don't think Nic has any plans to make SAS include antivirus abilities . That involves a lot of new code to unpatch files and is a completely different animal then a general antimalware app . Lasse88 Posted July 31, 2007 Yeah i dont think antivirus should be included either.. if you need a free antivirus program you can thoose AVG Avast or Antivir (antivir have lots of false positives.. but also better detection.) all 3 is better then ClamWin. SUPERAntiSpy Posted July 31, 2007 We won't be including an anti-virus scanning in SUPERAntiSpyware. We are anti-spyware specialists and no company can do everything well, so we focus on anti-spyware.
Seth Posted July 31, 2007 Compared to Trojan Horses deploying Adware, viruses are almost non-existent. Everyone just throws around the term "virus" because that's what they're used to saying. Take a look on the web in regards to "Professional" articles explaining the latest and greatest virus threats. Turns out that most (almost all) of these aren't even viruses, they're TH's.
