majofa Posted March 6, 2012 In every scan I perform, I keep getting the following key along with the warning that is a Critical Threat Registry Cleaner Trial HKU\S-1-5-21-1292428093-2139871995-682003330-1003\Software\SoftwareOnline.com I have removed many times, but it will show in the next scan. I have also removed manually from the registry with the same outcome. I found online that this key belongs to superspyware software. So, is it yours ? Is it a critical threat ? GuiltySpark Posted March 6, 2012 majofa , You need to get rid of that Registry Cleaner it is giving you false readings, and stay away from dodgy sites such as SoftwareOnline.com.
majofa Posted March 7, 2012 Well, thats the thing: I don´t have any Register Cleaner in my computer, neither had I installed ever. This error started to show when I switched from superantispyware free version to the pro version.
GuiltySpark Posted March 7, 2012 SoftwareOnline.com provides Registry cleaners and very bad ones at that. The Superspyware software is not associated with SAS and is spyware in itself. Use Revo uninstaller to remove it completely and a decent up to date AV if you don't already have one.
