Qapla Posted November 2, 2011 The newer version has the options of "Quick Scan" and "Critical Point Scan". I have tried the "Help" button and the Help Site still has the description/explanation of the older version - It does not include the "Critical Point Scan". It has been this way for quite some time. I know the difference in a "Complete Scan", a "Custom Scan", and the "Quick Scan". The first two are pretty self-explanatory. My question is, what is a "Critical Point Scan" and what makes it different from a "Quick Scan". Which one should be run routinely?
SAS Customer Service Posted November 2, 2011 Hi Qapla, The Critical Point Scan is the fastest of the two and briefly checks the most common spots for malware. A Quick Scan is more thorough and as such takes more time. Between the two a Quick Scan would be recommended for routine scans and of course a Complete Scan as often as possible.
