File association corruption.

Did you use the SAS .exe fix, or a third party .exe fix?

In both the linked threads, SAS was uninstalled to resolve the issue. Just learnt about the SAS .exe fix, from the other thread here.

Run this SAS .exe fix: http://www.superanti..._FixEXEfile.com

Now make sure SAS is fully updated and run a scan again. If at that time HKCR\.exe is detected, then Trust/Allow it.
