why does sas occupy so much disk space?!

The SUPERAntiSpyware threat database is over 50mb. With malicious software growing at an alarming rate, it will likely expand well beyond that as we create more definitions to remove infections.

Why is the size of SAS even an issue? It is small enough to fit on the tiniest USB drives you can currently find. It also has a very tiny memory footprint when running in Windows, 2MB in my system at the minimum.

Or were you asking on a technical standpoint, to understand the volume of programming data that comprises the software?
