eaglesnest888 Posted June 23, 2011 I have been using SAS for years and have never had this problem. SAS will NOT complete a full scan. It gets to a point while scanning file folders and then it just stops. The "error" message as such is SAS HAS ENCOUNTERED AN UNEXPECTED PROBLEM AND WILL SHUT DOWN. WOULD YOU LIKE TO RESTART SAS? I update definitions daily. Any suggestions?

techmonkey74 Posted June 30, 2011 I am having the same problem on a brand new PC, what is causing this? Did the fix work? By doing the suggested fix will I still get a good scan?
techmonkey74 Posted July 1, 2011 Well the fixed worked for me. What does unchecking the two items do or should I say NOT do during a scan? Will I still get a good scan?

Twistednerve84 Posted April 17, 2013 I tried this and it didn't work. I also tried adding AVG to the "Excluded Folders" in SAS preferences as suggested in this forum topic: https://forums.superantispyware.com/index.php?/topic/4919-anyone-having-issues-with-avg/?hl=%2Bstops+%2Bscanning#entry22253 which also failed. Can anyone help please? -T.nerve84
TK-77776 Posted July 28, 2019 How do I " uncheck the Kernel Direct and Direct Disk Access options" I do not see those options anywhere? Also, why did this start? I have this happening on all 3 of my machines. Used to work fine. Now every day it errors out. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, updating. I have tried installing into a different directory. I have tried removing it from the registry and reinstalling. What did you do to your program that made it so crappy? How is it of any use to me if I can't even run a scan?
