No False Alarm report

Recommended Posts

I just downloaded the latest upgrade to Thunderbird. SAS reports it as bad. I believe it is a false positive. However, in 5.0, there appears to be no way to report it.

It is the same process as in the version 4 series of SAS. See the link below.

There are Restore, Delete, and Delete All buttons. There are no other buttons like in your link (I would paste the image but I can not figure out how to). There is no Report False Positive button (nor Trust/Allow button either). Note, it found these from the Real-Time monitor, not during a scan---would this matter?

Yes.

1. Temporarily disable realtime protection.

2. Restore the file from quarantine.

3. Then do a right click scan of the file.

4. When SAS detects the file, submit it as a false positive at that point.

5. Enable realtime protection.

(Be sure that you have updated the core/trace definitions prior to the scan. If it is an FP, it may already be corrected.)

Yes.

Do you know if they will add the ability to enter a FP when RT protection is still active? If we have the Pro version, wouldn't RTP be on always (isn't that the point vs free)?

Thanks
