Mccfuzz Posted January 17, 2011 Hi there, I've temporarily uninstalled SAS due to my firewall warning me that SAS was attempting to modify my anti virus software (Avast free version) Shortly afterwards a similar window opened warning that it was also trying to modify svchost.exe. Is this normal? Is it anything to worry about? Thanks in advance for any replies.
Seth Posted January 17, 2011 Welcome to the SAS forum Mccfuzz. SAS does not modify any antivirus program. What site did you use to download SAS? Go ahead and re-install from www.superantispyware.com Let us know if any other unusual messages appear.

Go ahead and re-install from www.superantispyware.com Let us know if any other unusual messages appear. I think I downloaded SAS from 'Snapfiles'. The full warning generated from my Comodo firewall was, " SAS is trying to modify svchost.exe in memory" if that makes any difference. I'll download again fromyour website and try again. Thanks for the suggesations.................McCfuzz
siliconman01 Posted January 18, 2011 I suspect that the solution provided in the link below will resolve your issue. https://forums.comodo.com/defense_help/task_bar_icon-t48565.0.html;prev_next=next SAS Real-time is just trying to scan various memory modules as part of its real-time protection. I get these messages in the Norton Internet Security 2011 history logs as well. NIS 2011 blocks SAS from accessing its memory resident programs as part of the tamper protection of NIS 2011. Seth Posted January 18, 2011 SAS was attempting to modify my anti virus software If that's the exact message you got, Comodo should change the wording. The resolution from siliconman's link should clear up the issue.
Lasse88 Posted January 19, 2011 Do you have a screen-shot or something??? and can you describe how you get those messages if you can reproduce them? I have used SAS PRO and CIS for some years now, and i have never got those messages. The only thing that comes close to your messages, is the same thing that siliconman01 did link to, but those are not popups/warnings.

I've since installed SAS again and as yet the problem has not recurred. I'll also take note of the other suggestions. Many thanks....McCfuzz
