SAS hangs on a scan after update

Recommended Posts

SuperAntiSpyware hangs several seconds after I begin scanning the computer, always on the same folder c:\windows32\.

It worked before, but not anymore, looks like the latest update has something to do with it, I havent made any other changes to my computer since the last scan.

I've got windows 7 home premium, 64 -bit operating system.

I thought I had a problem with SAS before when it would start the IE window with SAS product release history, well, looks like latest update got rid of that problem for me, but it also stopped scanning the computer.

Any help would be good!

Thank you for your time.

Not seeing this problem on my Win 7 x64 or Win 7 x86 computers. I recommend that you first try to uninstall/re-install SAS and see if the issue goes away. Here is a procedure that I suggest.

1. Download the latest version 4.44.1000 of SAS and save it on your desktop.

2. Download the SAS Uninstaller Assistant and save it on your desktop.

https://forums.superantispyware.com/index.php?/topic/1344-superantispyware-uninstallation-assistant/

3. Close down SAS.

4. Go to Control Panel>Programs and Features. Uninstall SAS.

5. Then run the SAS Uninstaller Assistant. A reboot will be required once the Assistant runs.

6. After rebooting, do a search on your C:\ hard drive using the search word SASCore. Delete any folder that contains the word SASCore

7. Do a search on your C:\ hard drive using the search word SuperAntiSpyware. Delete any folder that contains the word SuperAntiSpyware

8. Now re-install the latest version 4.44.1000 of SAS. If you are running SAS PRO, be sure to enter your license key when the installer wizard requests it. I think this is on the second wizard window displayed during the installation. Be sure to activate your account and to update to the latest core/trace definitions.

9. Set up your Preferences.

10. Now run a Complete Scan of your system and see if the issue is resolved.

If this fresh installation does not resolve your issue, submit a Customer Support Request via the link below.

PS: Questions like this should be posted in the General Questions section of the SAS forum, not in the False Positives section.

Thank you so much for trying to help, Siliconman01, but I tried everything and it didnt work, SAS is stuck again on one file for more than an hour, just submitted a request.

P.S. Sorry for posting it in the wrong place, I guess I was so desperate, just wanted to resolve the issue ASAP
