jamjar Posted September 27, 2010 Hi I’ve tried to install SAS Free but each time during the setup process I get a warning that SAS Setup has stopped working. I’ve copied and pasted the details below: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: SUPERAntiSpyware.exe Application Version: 4.43.0.1000 Application Timestamp: 4c8e7845 Fault Module Name: SUPERAntiSpyware.exe Fault Module Version: 4.43.0.1000 Fault Module Timestamp: 4c8e7845 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 0006de98 OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3 Locale ID: 2057 Additional Information 1: 0a9e Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Additional Information 3: 0a9e Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 The warning pops up just after a message that SAS has been successfully installed but before the language option screen. The definitions download OK. When I carry out a scan nothing is found. When I uninstall SAS, it appears to uninstall OK but after rebooting, a leftover entry appears in the Programs and Features list and various folders and shortcuts still remain. My OS is Windows 7 (64bit). I disable NOD32 during the installation. What is causing the problem and what is the best way to do a clean uninstall? Thanks for any advice on how to proceed. jamjar Posted September 27, 2010 Is your system infected by chance? I've run scans with NOD32, Windows Defender as well as SAS and nothing is detected. To recap, during the installation process, I get the "SAS has been successfully installed message", the language option window then appears, then "SAS setup has stopped working" warning. After that the definitions download successfully and the main screen appears. When I uninstall SAS an entry for it still appears in the program list although not the SAS icon but a Windows file icon. When I click on that, Windows reports that an error occurred during the uninstall and it is removed. In the past the Windows uninstall has worked correctly.
