Do I also need Malwarebytes Anti Malware?

Recommended Posts

I have been a paid user of SAS Pro since 2007. Obviously, I am a satisfied customer. The program runs perfectly with no complaints from me. So now my question:

Since I use SAS Pro in conjunction with Microsoft's MSE, do I also need to use the program Malwarebytes Antimalware (MBAM) or is that just overkill? I ask because I always see discussions about that utility in other forums, but with no conclusive discussion about usefulness. There seems to be a 50-50 consensus.

Thanks for everyone's time. Great product (SAS Pro) and great forum . . . . Jeff

The licensed version of MBAM would be overkill. The free version is nice to have around if you get into a serious infection issue. JMO

Just to clarify better on what TeMerc said, malwarebytes' is designed as a complementary software, which is to protect you against what your anti-virus misses. However it can catch viruses and worms, but not on a regular scale such as products like Kaspersky or whatever. So yes you still need to keep Kaspersky.
