Dpope Posted July 8, 2010 First let me say I am almost entirely computer illiterate. Superantispyware (SAS) has done great up till two weeks ago, i'd run it two or three times a day, always getting some result, & updating as often. Recently, all scans result in nothing found. What's up with this? Am I doing something wrong or is there a new thing preventing SAS from doing its job?

Please post the latest SAS log for review.

You could probably define my internet usage as needless & excessive. If it's catching stuff every time, use would seem warrented. Am I causing some damage by using it so often? rmlake13 Posted July 8, 2010 Application Version : 4.34.1000 Your application version is several versions behind. I've noticed that version 4.34.1000 has had problems updating to new program versions. In order to update to the latest version use the SASUNINST utility found here. Then download the latest version of SuperAntiSpyware and install it. Once it's installed and updated, try running a scan once again and post the log for it. Also, if you know what version of windows you're using and whether it's 32 or 64-bit, that might help too.

Dpope Posted July 8, 2010 Is there anything there to explain why the old version didn't work?

Am I causing some damage by using it so often? The moment you turn on your computer, your causing damage. Any type of malware scan will further such.
Dpope Posted August 9, 2010 Is it possible for me to get an old version of SAS? I loved the job it was doing before July, hasn't worked well since, or hasn't seemed to. It used to show removing lots of stuff & now only does so rarely. I doubt that the stuff I used to pick up has gone away so what's the deal? example; SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log https://www.superantispyware.com Generated 04/22/2010 at 11:51 AM Application Version : 4.34.1000 Core Rules Database Version : 4838 Trace Rules Database Version: 2650 Scan type : Quick Scan Total Scan Time : 00:05:49 Memory items scanned : 441 Memory threats detected : 0 Registry items scanned : 362 Registry threats detected : 0 File items scanned : 4049 File threats detected : 16 Adware.Tracking Cookie C:\Documents and Settings\User 1\Cookies\user_1@worldsex[1].txt C:\Documents and Settings\User 1\Cookies\user_1@imrworldwide[2].txt C:\Documents and Settings\User 1\Cookies\user_1@counter6.sextracker[2].txt C:\Documents and Settings\User 1\Cookies\user_1@atdmt[1].txt C:\Documents and Settings\User 1\Cookies\user_1@www.patrixxx[1].txt C:\Documents and Settings\User 1\Cookies\user_1@rb4.worldsex[1].txt C:\Documents and Settings\User 1\Cookies\user_1@counter2.sextracker[2].txt C:\Documents and Settings\User 1\Cookies\user_1@ad.yieldmanager[2].txt C:\Documents and Settings\User 1\Cookies\user_1@counter3.sextracker[1].txt C:\Documents and Settings\User 1\Cookies\user_1@media6degrees[2].txt C:\Documents and Settings\User 1\Cookies\user_1@pornhub[2].txt C:\Documents and Settings\User 1\Cookies\user_1@sextracker[2].txt C:\Documents and Settings\User 1\Cookies\user_1@cuteteenvideo[1].txt C:\Documents and Settings\User 1\Cookies\user_1@patrixxx[2].txt C:\Documents and Settings\User 1\Cookies\user_1@adultfriendfinder[1].txt C:\Documents and Settings\User 1\Cookies\user_1@counter7.sextracker[1].txt After; SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log https://www.superantispyware.com Generated 08/08/2010 at 10:59 PM Application Version : 4.40.1002 Core Rules Database Version : 5333 Trace Rules Database Version: 3145 Scan type : Complete Scan Total Scan Time : 00:27:46 Memory items scanned : 446 Memory threats detected : 0 Registry items scanned : 6030 Registry threats detected : 0 File items scanned : 12034 File threats detected : 1 Adware.Tracking Cookie www.naiadsystems.com [ C:\Documents and Settings\User 1\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\R73JEHD4 ]
Seth Posted August 9, 2010 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cookies_(Internet) The logs show that SAS is detecting cookies that get installed every time you go on the internet. There's no problem with what you've reported
rmlake13 Posted August 9, 2010 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cookies_(Internet) The logs show that SAS is detecting cookies that get installed every time you go on the internet. There's no problem with what you've reported Except the application version in your log file is 4.40.1002 and the newest is 4.41.1000. I doubt that you'll see any new items being detected, but there is a significant speed increase in scanning that is pretty nice. If you haven't already updated to the newest version I would suggest doing so.
