profess135 Posted June 26, 2010 Hi, I recently had to manually enter the registry to change a setting. A virus changed the ability for Windows Firewall to operate on Windows XP. I had to go into the following key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\StandardProfile] and change "EnableFirewall"=dword:00000000 to "EnableFirewall"=dword:00000001 There are a couple other options in there also that may be worth considering. "DoNotAllowExceptions"=dword:00000000 "DisableNotifications"=dword:00000000 The Windows Firewall is dependent on a few settings, so this is not the only one required (maybe it could check others?) ---- I registered especially to recommend this. Please consider (if not implemented already, however if so I could not find the wording that explained this option) Thanks for a great program, Osei
