Diazruanova Posted May 11, 2010 Hi, Le´s say that I have avast free and SAS Pro running resident, both having real time protection enabled and suddenly they detect the same "nasty" file, what happens? 1.- Do they "freeze" and neither one do warn about the "nasty" file? ... or 2.- Does any of two warn first than the other and which one does it first? ...and lastly 3.- Do they both detect the "nasty" file at the same time giving both their respective warnings? siliconman01 Posted May 12, 2010 Typically what occurs when running an AV and spyware program such as SAS side by side is that the first one detect the infection will lock the infected file such that other programs do not have access to it. Most likely Avast will detect the infection first because Avast is hooked deeper into your operating system; therefore, you will most likely get alerted from Avast.
