Tony27nine Posted April 3, 2010 Hi everyone - newbie here... My sister-in -law got her PC infected with XP Antivirus and it all went horrribly wrong. My sister bought Kaspersky but it didn't recognize there was a problem....?! I used Logmein to get onto her machine, loaded up Superantispyware and hey presto XP Antivirus was consigned to history. (Don't you just wish you could meet up with the guys who write these viruses - a couple of mins alone in a locked room would be enough...) OK so now everything is fine except......... Suddenly trying to open Logmein, Kaspersky, or any of the Control Panel functions and all you get are the dialogue box (What programme do you want to open this with) or Can't find C:/Windows/System32/rundll32.exe Has anyone encountered this? Does anyone know what I need to do to fix it? I searched and found a site offering rundll fixes but it was full of spelling errors and poor grammar so I figured it may well be another mindless virus-writing doofus trying to scam me.... I think the PC is running XP (can't open the About this PC box)
