Seth Posted March 11, 2010 I upgraded SAS to Prof. a few weeks ago when the special offer was on. Ever since, when my computer boots SAS randomly decides if it's going to bother to load. I have checked the box that says start SAS when Windows starts (this box also randomly unchecks itself). Then when I start it manually, the load screen hangs for a while and makes any other computer usage impossible till it's done. I've reinstalled, uninstalled & deleted all leftover folders, it still keeps happening. This only happened since I upgraded to Prof. Does anyone have any ideas about why this is happeneing or better yet how to fix it Ps. Using Windows XP Hi Spin. ePost Posted March 11, 2010 Hi SpinDizzy I apologize up front for posting at all because it is not good netiquette for common users to write in a log or malware thread. However, I know for at fact that a HijackThis log can be useful for experts sometimes and I think you should post a HijackThis log also. Regard this as a fellow user's suggestion - not as expert advice: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/hijackthis.php

ePost Posted March 11, 2010 Well, now we have to wait for the experts to arrive. They may also want a log from SUPERAntiSpyware itself, it suddenly occurred to me. Meanwhile you could let an online scanner run from a tab also. Microsoft offers a free anti-malware scanner nowadays. This one - remember to change language if you're not in the US: http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm Other useful things are scannow and chkdsk - but run the online scanner first.
