jschiro329 Posted January 16, 2010 I've been trying to remove the 2 types of spyware listed above, but I'm not sure if I've been successful. I've run SAS several times, but they keep showing up. I am running Windows XP SP3. Log is listed below: SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log https://www.superantispyware.com Generated 01/16/2010 at 03:23 PM Application Version : 4.33.1000 Core Rules Database Version : 4482 Trace Rules Database Version: 2302 Scan type : Complete Scan Total Scan Time : 01:13:06 Memory items scanned : 519 Memory threats detected : 0 Registry items scanned : 5981 Registry threats detected : 10 File items scanned : 24131 File threats detected : 0 Browser Hijacker.Deskbar HKCR\Interface\{4897BBA6-48D9-468C-8EFA-846275D7701B} HKCR\Interface\{4897BBA6-48D9-468C-8EFA-846275D7701B}\ProxyStubClsid HKCR\Interface\{4897BBA6-48D9-468C-8EFA-846275D7701B}\ProxyStubClsid32 HKCR\Interface\{4897BBA6-48D9-468C-8EFA-846275D7701B}\TypeLib HKCR\Interface\{4897BBA6-48D9-468C-8EFA-846275D7701B}\TypeLib#Version Adware.Gamevance HKCR\GamevanceText.Linker HKCR\GamevanceText.Linker\CLSID HKCR\GamevanceText.Linker\CurVer HKCR\GamevanceText.Linker.1 HKCR\GamevanceText.Linker.1\CLSID They do show up in the quarantine list, but does that mean they can't cause any damage to my system? (I apologize for what may be a stupid question.) Just a little concerned, is there an easy way to completely remove them? Thank you.
siliconman01 Posted January 17, 2010 You should create a customer support ticket and let the SAS gurus help you get rid of these registry items. https://www.superantispyware.com/precreateticket.html If they keep returning each time you scan with SAS, then either something is putting them back in and SAS is not cleaning the "root cause" of the infection, or the registry keys are locked and SAS is not really removing them. Either way, the SAS gurus will resolve the issue with you.
