samo8906 Posted July 16, 2009 Hi I have SUPERAntiSpyware Lifetime Subscritption installed and updated and BitDefender 2009 Total Security installed. Both work well but recently I have been having Internet Explorer pop ups of various sites that do not load but just pop up. An example of the urls that have been popping up is: DO NOT CLICK** http://url.urtbk.com/cpv.jsp?p=112086&i ... Id=7512570 ** I have done numerous deep system scans with both SUPERAntiSpyware and Bitdefender 2009 but they do not remove the problem. What should I do about this?? Thanks
siliconman01 Posted July 16, 2009 IE pop-ups are not controlled by SAS or Bit Defender. Have you turned on IE's pop-up blocker. It is under Tools in the IE main toolbar.
Jahn Posted July 16, 2009 I see others are having the same problem. Source: Google Search Make sure you have the latest version of SAS installed (4.26.1006) and update the definitions file. Boot into safe mode and run a complete scan with SAS (and BitDefender, IF it will run in safe mode). If no joy, open a SAS Customer Support Request HERE. samo8906 Posted July 20, 2009 I will do that thanks Jahn. However when I try to update SAS from 4.25.1014 to 4.26.1006 it says there are no updates available... Should I download 4.26.1006 from SAS website and try my serial that I purchased to re-register it? siliconman01 I have pop-up blocker turned on. Still no luck though. Jahn Posted July 20, 2009 You're welcome. Be sure to record your Product Registration Number someplace safe first, then download and save SAS Pro from HERE and SAS Uninstall Utility from HERE. Uninstall SAS in the normal way (Add/Remove Programs for XP). Then run (double-click) the uninstall utility and reboot as prompted. Install the new version, re-register, update the definitons, and proceed as above.
samo8906 Posted July 22, 2009 Jahn - I did what you said and downloaded the new version, rebooted in safe mode and did a deep scan and it found more spyware etc. I rebooted and haven't had a problem yet so I think it's all good. Thanks for your help
Jahn Posted July 22, 2009 Well that's good news, and you're very welcome. For my own curiosity, would you mind posting the SAS log from the scan in safe mode? (SAS > Preferences > Statistics/Logs tab) Thanks.
