spyt Posted January 20, 2009 There is something strange in SASUNINST.EXE util. I used it to remove SUPERantiSpyWare from Windows2000. After rebooting system hangs with "Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINNT\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM " This was the second time in a couple of months. Unfortunately I didn't remember the first time and backup all the related files before using the util again. Perhaps I thought that it was just a coincidence on the first time. Now what? SUPERAntiSpy Posted January 22, 2009 The SASUNINST.EXE only deletes SUPERAntiSpyware, nothing else.
h2eau Posted January 22, 2009 This happens in Windows 2000 with other antivirus and antispyware programs. I don't think it's when they are uninstalled but when they are installed. Here is some information from Microsoft at this link. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/826721/en-us

You've got issues with the registry if you're receiving that error message. I'd recommend testing for hardware stability by running memtest86+ for 12-24 hours, and if it passes run StressPrime for another 12 hours. You can use Erunt for doing regular backups of the registry: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download1267.html
demonluo Posted January 26, 2009 u can try Revo-Uninstaller which is at least 100x better than the useless window uninstaller... http://www.download.com/Revo-Uninstalle ... 096_4-1068
