lordpake Posted September 30, 2008 fletch, you have been around here long enough that you should by now know no single solution can catch 100% of pests out there This applies to AV's, anti-malware etc. too.
lordpake Posted October 1, 2008 SAS is the best AntiSpyware tool on this planet Berny +++ That may be so. However, that doesn't make SAS a solution that catches everything. No offence intended to devs This is just a reality with signature-based protection.
Lasse88 Posted October 1, 2008 SAS uses generic detection, and the same do other leading companies such as spysweeper and kaspersky.
SUPERAntiSpy Posted October 1, 2008 SAS is the best AntiSpyware tool on this planet Berny +++ That may be so. However, that doesn't make SAS a solution that catches everything. No offence intended to devs This is just a reality with signature-based protection. SUPERAntiSpyware is not just signature based protection. Signatures are part of the system, but certainly not the whole protection/detection system.
redwolfe_98 Posted October 2, 2008 "spyware doctor" could be flagging some "IRC" program that is not really malware, which could explain why SAS is not flagging it..
Lasse88 Posted October 2, 2008 lordpake I run SAS/Malwarebytes/and DrWeb {on demand} Hi friends, When installing two anti-virus shields it is well known you will be facing serious conflicts on your system. I assume that this rule is the same when speaking about an anti-spyware shield ? Berny +++ it doesnt matter how many Antispyware programs you have, you can have 100 without any problems, as long you only have 1 running with real-time-protection.. and bstandaert wrote "on demand" which means he use them to scan his computer.
