SASFree - any need to keep running?

Recommended Posts

I'm using the SAS Free Edition. As I understand it this version of SAS does not do any work other than scans (on demand, not scheduled) and checking for updates.

If that's right, is there any reason to have SAS running except for when I want to do a scan and/or update check?

There are many topics about this. To summarize:

- for automatic check of any update available

- for easy action when you need SAS

- if SAS runs in the system tray you have access to the context menu action "scan with SAS"

I add that SAS when running idle in the system tray uses very little resources.
