"helpsearch.exe" and registry entry "BKDR_HUPIGON.Fi"

Recommended Posts

I noticed in Task Manager, CPU was running at 100%, with a entry of "helpsearch.exe". The entry dissapeared right before my eyes, and CPU went back to normal. Googled it, and found some info over at TrendMicro.

Did a SAS scan in safe mode. Nothing found. Did boot scan with Avast, did online scans with Nod32, TrendMicro and Symantec, nothing found. The registry entry of BKDR_HUPIGON.Fi was found in registry by me.

Question: Is this spyware/Virus? It appears this is going to be difficult to remove.

Am using SAS Home. XP Pro.
