SUPERAntiSpy Posted March 6, 2008 Hi Nick,No problem, just an observation. I'm running Vista Prem. SAS v4 and have noticed that scans in Admin. and Standard accounts are different in both speed and files scanned. ............................Admin Results.............Standard Results ..............Time:........16.17mins....................40.53mins ....Mem. Items:.............737.............................696 .....Reg. Items:............6534............................6541 .......File Items:...........20117..........................36845 As I said, no problems, just thought you might want to know. Thanks. We'll check it out here, is this 4.0.1154? It could be that DDA is not accessible on the standard account for some reason.
SUPERAntiSpy Posted March 6, 2008 Thanks for your reply,Yes, it is version 4.0.1154. I'll try a scan later on the standard account by right clicking and running as administrator to see if there is any difference. I will post back the results. Thanks. May I have a developer contact you?
SUPERAntiSpy Posted March 6, 2008 May I have a developer contact you? Yes, of course. Just to follow up, I ran another scan, right clicked and ran as Administrator on a standard account. Results: Time: 16.47 mins Mem. Items: 699 Reg. Items: 6573 File Items: 20087 Thanks. Can you turn DDA off and do the scan under Admin?
SUPERAntiSpy Posted March 6, 2008 Nick,Done a complete scan on Admin. acc. with DDA disabled. Results: Time: 39.47 mins Mem. Items: 697 Reg. Items: 6542 File Items: 36834 Hope it helps. Would you try a special build to see if it resolves the problem?
SUPERAntiSpy Posted March 20, 2008 Hi Nick,Just checking back to see if there's any update. Something else I discovered last night, maybe your aware of already, when updating the free edition, I have to update separately for each account, admin and standard. Yes, you currently have to do definitions updates for each account, that will be changed in a future version.
poutnik Posted March 21, 2008 Does it mean, that with DDA it scans less files, or without DDA scans some more times ? Or just count more times ?
SUPERAntiSpy Posted March 21, 2008 Does it mean, that with DDA it scans less files,or without DDA scans some more times ? Or just count more times ? It's likely an admin vs standard user issue - try 4.1 and see if the results are the same.
poutnik Posted March 21, 2008 I will try, anyway, the original poster noticed the difference within admin account , having DDA ON/OFF, thats why have asked.
