Hi, I don't know how many of you are using ZA free and SAS free but I am having issues. I have been using both applications for years now, with no issues. But recently I have been unable to update SAS. When I try to update I get a 'Definitions Update Failed' message. If I look in my ZA logs I see 'SuperAntiSpyware application was blocked from connecting to the internet (127.0.0.1:Port 12080)'. I have checked my ZA Application Control Settings, and SAS is allowed and trusted. I have 'SuperAntiSpyware Application - SUPERANTISPYWARE.EXE' and 'SuperAntiSpyware Update Application - SSUPDATE64.EXE' enabled for inbound and outbound access. The only way I can get SAS to update is to turn off my ZA Application Control, update SAS, then turn on my ZA Application Control. Any ideas?? I am using: Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit ZA free Firewall 11.0.000.504 (Just the firewall, not the antivirus etc) SAS free 18.104.22.1682
Hello Love your product but I do have a suggestion. Under "Check for Updates" there is a line that informs the user how recently SAS ... well, checked for updates. Like this morning mine said "Last checked 8 minutes ago." However, I'm one of those paranoid types who SHUTS OFF his Internet connection at night. Yeah, I know some experts suggest it's safer to leave the connection "on" 24/7 so software like SAS can update itself as soon as needed. Well, when I turn my Internet on FIRST THING I do is update my a-v software and run quick scans. (I did say I was paranoid!) So.... "Last checked 8 minutes ago" does NOT mean "Last updated 8 minutes ago" because there was no Internet connection available to use to update. So presumably SAS ATTEMPTED to update 8 minutes ago and failed. This is confirmed by the fair amount of time the update takes once I've reactivated my Internet connection. My helpful (I hope!) suggestion is maybe to inform the user that while SAS did indeed ATTEMPT to update 8 minutes ago it was unable to do so due to "No Internet connection." I would think this would be simple enough to code. Thanks for making a great product!
Earlier, this week I update my SAS free Edition. However, when it finished downloading and updating, the update window appeared and instead of displaying what was update, it said that the site was temporarily unavailable. I update later in the day with the usual update window, but was my previous update succcess despite that message?
So superantispyware has been working great, catching some flash cookies too, but it takes forever to update! Here's a current pic, clocking at 3 hours now: Last time, I just rebooted it. Might it have to do something with the fact that I'm using the guest account of a computer? The friend who recommended and installed it that he said it would work for all users. Edit: I would also like to add that I can't close the program manually. Clicking the X button in the update window does nothing, and trying to click anything on the main window causes the update window to flash to draw attention to itself instead.
