    I ran a cross check against TOTALVIRUS and JOTTI sites and other scanners found nothing.

    Is this a possible false positive?

    BTW-i ran a search for the file and it is in two places with same digital signature:

    1. C:\windows\system32

    2. C:\Users\Brent\AppData\Local\PunkBuster\COD4\pb

    SAS only found it in #2. NOTE: both files have same digital signatures from Evenbalance

    I'm keeping the file in case you need it...let me know.

  2. Running the desktop shortcut as RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR is only a temporary workaround. It gets annoying after the 10th one.

    If using Win7/Vista, and after reinstalling SAS is autostarting after rebooting(but not updating), check to see if your UAC is enabled. I have found UAC to be a source of trouble with various legitimate programs with Vista and WIndows 7. You can do this by searching for MSCONFIG, go to far right tab, TOOLs, Change UAC settings.

    Don't change UAC if you cannot help it, though. Vista and Win7 versions of UAC are different with different behavior.


  3. Maybe this is just an annoyance I have. Currently SAS installs, run, and updates ONLY per the current user logged on. i.e., if you log on as pc\bud, install and update SAS. THen log off and log on as pc\buddette, buddette will have all different SAS settings, scanning settings, and no update that bud already downloaded.

    This is annoying when 4 ppl use the same pc with different user profiles. Is there a workaround I've overlooked?

    This may be an enhancement request if not do-able with the current version.

    I have 2 paid full subscriptions and wanted to know how to delete multiple entries in the Quarantine Items list, especially since I have 3-4 months worth. Is this possible with the current version? (4624.2436)

    Currently: can only delete one item at a time

    Desired action: to be able to multi-click (or control click) multiple quarantine items and delete...or to have a DELETE ALL option in the GUI>

  5. Guys,

    This happened to me with Win7 and 4.29. I believe it is because you are still on the older Oct SAS version 4.29 not 4.30.

    So here is what I did:

    1. Close all SAS windows, so only the bug is in the systray

    2. right click the bug, choose Check for Updates

    3. Choose to update via the popup

    4. close down SAS completely

    5. Go to Start and open SAS from program menu

    6. If the version doesn't say 4.30, (or hovering on BUG) then retry it.

    Alternative method: Use the SAS Alternate Start icon to start it up...as RUNSAS

    This may not solve the original problem of Admin priveleges, but I suspect that kinder gentler Win7 UAC was freaking out the old 4.29 application and halting the auto updating of the new Nov11 app 4.30 version
