1. Do to your change of ownership, my brother and I have removed the links to your software from each of our company websites. We are NOT sending our business to Support.com as they provide the same services as we do ! I recommend all other computer service and repair companies do the same.
2. Thank you, that I all wanted was someone at SuperAntiSpyware to whitelist or do what ever for the Norton processes required to make SuperAntiSpyware work in realtime. As I stated I was not looking to into a war of words or call SAS detection of malware into question, as I have used SAS to clean a number of computers for clients. It would so much easier if one could put in a trouble ticket and get issues like this fixed, without get my trouble ticket cancelled...sorry it not an issue go away !
3. Yes Norton is now block all and any of their software from have duplicate handles created. Tamper Protection believes any software doing that is possible scumware, that is about to kill their processes. It is NOT bug, it now feature of all Norton products. ! I am not blaming SAS, just trying to inform you have an issue. Please see my earlier attachments and comment for some of the program names and Norton files, even Norton Ghost is now protected. White listing Norton processes is not the way to go, as Norton could create a new program name at any time. Also, per my earlier comments, all my other anti-spyware programs such as, Spybot, Malwarebytes and CounterSpy run without trying to create duplicate handles on Norton processes, plus Norton runs without errors, so bottom-line SAS has an issue, that needs correcting.
4. Thank you again for your suggestions. Using the Norton Removal Tool on all my systems is non-starter with as it will force me to reinstall all my Norton products, lose all my settings and more than likely go over me max. install number of time for Norton products. Also all my other anti-spyware programs such as, Spybot, Malwarebytes and CounterSpy run without trying to mess with Norton processes or files, plus Norton runs without errors. I did rename pifsvc.exe to pifsvc.xxx to stop the program loading. That stop Norton Tamper Protection stopping SAS on that file, but then SAS hard stopped on turning on real-time protection when SAS tested my Norton Ghost see attached error. The bottom line is now, Norton is protect all Norton products and directories, to stop scumware makers from stopping Norton processes or changing their files. SAS need to bypass all Norton processes and directories.
5. I am running Norton Internet Security 2010. on Vista Ultimate Quad Core System. Is your 'Norton Tamper Protection' and 'Norton Sonar Protection' turned on ? If there are not on, turn them on, per Norton defaults and see if get the reinstall Norton message ? My brother's system is also now failing after the latest updates, so maybe the update has just no been rolled out to your system or your tamper protection is off. As far as putting in a trouble ticket on this issue, I found the forums and emailing my sales contact in SAS works better at get the 4.29 SAS attempt at fixing this conflict. Support just closes my ticket telling me it is a Norton issue....sorry it is not. Thanks for your input, Dave
6. V4.29.1002 worked for 2 days with Norton, by turning off Norton Tamper Protection. Of course Norton plugged that hole and now give you an error to reinstall Norton. This reactivates Norton tamper protection and Sonar protection. If you turn on SAS realtime then you have the old right click lockup and boot issues again. SAS needs to fix their software, stop creating duplicate objects and messing with Norton.
7. Yes it is still a problem, the only way to run SAS with Norton Internet Security is to turn off SAS 'realtime protection'. If you want to have SAS 'realtime protection' turned on, the only way you can make SuperAntiSpyware realtime load in Vista, is to turn off 'Norton Product Tamper Protection' . I have contacted Mike Duncan of SAS directly by email about this issue, and all I get is stonewalled that the problem is Norton issue and Norton tells me it is SAS programing errors. As a computer security professional, I do not recommend anyone should turn off 'Norton Product Tamper Protection' to make any program run. All my other sercurity add on programs run ok, with the Norton release, such as MalwareBytes, Spybot and CounterSpy. Please SAS fix your issue !
8. I ran into the problem after a security engine Live Update from Symantec for Norton Internet Security 2009. My system would lock up on login and or you would not be able to right click anything after 1 to 3 hours, with the end result of having to reload my system from my Ghost drive backup. My SAS splash screen was turned off, it took me sometime understand SAS was the issue. After two day and three reload I found turning off SAS starting at boot up stopped the issue. SAS is turned off on Vista Ulimate system and my system has run now for over 36 hours with no issues. SAS has a conflict with Vista running the new Norton Security Engine update ! SAS will have to make a change, because Norton will not...... XP has no issues with SAS and the new Norton change.

10. RegCure is scareware and phonyware. Scan your system with MalwareBytes and or SpyBot, to remove RegCure.
11. Yes, Spybot is only program I run have issues with IE8. Spybot loads 10 of 1000s of entries into the Hosts file and IE restricted site area of IE8. This basically something they show not be doing per my post on the Spybot forms http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=47104. When running IE8, just undo the ALL the Spybot immunization, and IE8 works fine. At this point Spybot does not think they have an issue....mmmmmmmm. Here is part of my post ********************************************************************************************* IE8 is only slow with Spybot immunization, not any other Anti-Spyware or Anti-Virus programs, I run, which are: Norton Internet Security, Norton Safe-Web, SpyBlaster, Super Anti-Spyware, Norton Anti-Bot, Malware Bytes Real Time, Win Patrol do not slow down IE8 on XP SP3 or Vista, IE8 is only slow with Spybot immunization. So that tells me SpyBot has problem. I think it is the 10,000 items in the Hosts file immunization, is causing the majority of the problem. I do not think Microsoft will fix this issue as they do not recommend using the Hosts file for protection activities. **************************************************************************************************
