  1. Well I re-installed with the same results. I still get the same error message on any page where I try to block a picture.
  2. Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, I have rebooted several times since installation. I also just noticed that there doesn't seem to be a right click menu option to block pictures in Firefox. Perhaps the install got corrupted? We have not provided thast support in Firefox (yet) - we are testing it in house now. Ok...thanks. I have completely uninstalled SAB in preparation to re-installing. Are there any registry/file locations that need to be removed? I've used Autoruns, CCleaner and a registry cleaner to remove any residual traces I could find. Anything else come to mind?

  4. What site does this happen on? Happens on any site I try to block a picture.
  5. I just installed SAB on my Win7 box using IE8 but when I right click on a web picture to block it, I get "SuperAdBlocker BHO Not Installed". I did uninstall a previous version using the uninstall tool on your website.
  6. UPDATE: I ran Bitdefender from a boot disk and that cleaned the box enough for me to get into SAFE mode. From there I ran SAS's RUNSAS.EXE which further cleaned up enough to let me download and install MalwareBytes. Between those two programs in Normal and Safe mode, plus Avira, Autoruns, Windows Defender and CCleaner, my friend's computer is about 99%. This "System Security" rogue program is a tough nut.
  7. A friend of mine has this nasty on his computer. He's running XP Home. His antivirus, Symantec CE, has been disabled along with his firewall. I'm unable to install SAS or MalwareBytes (or anything else on his box). Safe mode does not load, SAS's RUNSAS.EXE does not run, taskmanager does not run and system restore does not run. Apparently no executable will run. Symptoms are numerous popups, fake virus alerts, fake virus scans, etc, ad nauseum! I ran Avira's boot disk on his box and it detected a number of trojans including mirar(?) and others but did not delete any of them. I'm going to try Bitdefender's boot disk tomorrow but if anyone has any suggestions...I'd sure like to hear them.
  8. I had the same problem with super high CPU usage and working memory climbing to more than 1 GB. I also have NVIDIA drivers. Nick provided a link to the beta version and is works fine now. CPU less than 1% and mem usage less than 400k. Vista HP, dual core, 4 GB RAM, NVIDIA 8600GTS.
  9. I agree with Mike. My CPU usage is WAY down (0-1%) and the memory being used is miniscule (as opposed to gradually creeping to mind numbing levels BEFORE this beta). It got so bad that I stopped using SAS except as a demand scanner. Good job!
