1. Hello World.

2. Hi! I noticed there is a v4.40.1002 update. However, my installed SAS Free Ed. v4.39.1002 is not telling me there is an update to get in my updated 64-bit W7 HP machine. What's up? I had no problems on my home's old, updated Windows XP Pro. SP3 and 2000 SP4 machines. Thank you in advance.
3. Thanks. We look forward to get that update.
4. You mean the long weekend since we started this thread on 1st? [grin]
5. Ditto. I have b1000, but its program updater says no b1002 updates. I'm confused!
6. Hello. I have a new Dell OEM 64-bit Windows 7 HP machine. I was wondering if the latest version is safe to install and use on it. I cannot seem to find exact system requirements on the 64-bit part. Thank you in advance.
7. Hello. I believe this is a false positive since both http://virusscan.jotti.org/en/scanresul ... 1a7a3b4f20 and http://www.virustotal.com/analisis/8c37 ... 1260724868 say clean. Previous scans didn't show them as well in SAS. Here's the log: SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log https://www.superantispyware.com Generated 12/13/2009 at 01:55 AM Application Version : 4.31.1000 Core Rules Database Version : 4364 Trace Rules Database Version: 2207 Scan type : Complete Scan Total Scan Time : 01:41:59 Memory items scanned : 647 Memory threats detected : 0 Registry items scanned : 7557 Registry threats detected : 0 File items scanned : 109932 File threats detected : 1 Rogue.Agent/Gen-Nullo[DLL] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\EONSYS.DLL I already submitted it as a possible FP to SAS. Thank you in advance.
8. I will try again later. I think I already did try redownloading.
9. Right, first of all as shown above I advised you first to un-install version 1000 prior to installing version 1004. I would also and this is my preference only but do a search for all folders that refer to SAS then reboot. Now install version SAS 4.24 1004 Of course what SAS may have done is make a warning message about the operating system, but they certainly didn't have that message when I installed it. The reason you got that second error message is more than likely because it's trying to update you with whatever is the very latest program which as we know isn't compatible with windows 98. Hmm. Well, I tried uninstalling, rebooting, found an empty SAS folder/directory and deleted it, and installing but still failed.
10. Well, things got worse. See viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3653 for my new issue.
11. Hello. I am having problems installing the latest SAS Free b1004 into my father's old Toshiba Satellite notebook/laptop with Windows 98 SE OEM. I was having updating SAS b1000 to b1004 via its updater and was told to do a reinstall. So I ran b1004 installer, requested to uninstall b1000, rebooted, install b1004, got an errors, ignored it, and ran SAS to get another error (outdated OS?) as shown in my screen captures: How do I fix this? I was told SAS still works with old Windows 98 SE. What's up? Thank you in advance.
12. I waited about 15 minutes for the updater to find the uipdates. I will try again and longer. If that still fails, I will just install 1004 from scratch.
13. Why dump it, it still works, ok it may take some time to load, but as it ain't real time then I don't see a problem. Well, I tried again. It still won't let me get the latest program update via its updater. If I abort it, it hangs even after 30 minutes. It still shows b1000 and 3/28/2009 definitions.
14. I am also seeing this problem on my dad's old Toshiba notebook/laptop (Celeron CPU!) with Windows 98 SE. I guess I will dump this program too.
15. It's the latest version as of 3//28/2009 (definitions) and v4.26.1000 for program. Remember, it detected a program update, but for some reason it froze during its updates.Interesting that others have the same problem with slow loading. I already waited over 30 minutes too! I guess I will remove it since it is horrible under 98 SE.
16. Hello. I updated SAS on my dad's old Toshiba notebook/laptop (Celeron CPU) with Windows 98 SE. I updated its definitions, but couldn't update its program (froze). So I killed the program and relaunched it, but now it just hangs. I do see its taskbar system tray icon and it still shows months old definitions. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.
17. Oh good. Is that going to be in a minor upgrade/patch (soon?) or in a next big/major version (will be a while)?
18. Hello I have slow PCs (low-end Pentium 4 with updated Windows XP Pro. SP2 and 2000 SP4) and noticed SAS (Free Edition) can take a minute or two to load/apply the new definitions after they are downloaded. I also noticed the memory usage can go high over 120 MB! Will SAS be improving this to make it faster and lighter in the future? Thank you in advance.
19. Done! How long does it take to receive a reply for the results?
20. Hello! I recently downloaded and installed portable Wireshark v1.2.0 into my updated Windows XP Pro. SP3: http://media-2.cacetech.com/wireshark/w ... .0.paf.exe ... Today, updated SAS scanned and found msvcp90.dll being suspected as Adware.Vundo/Variant-MSFake. I don't think this is correct? Thank you in advance.
21. Hello, No idea but i assume that SAS_Lab evaluates during a certain time all incoming reactions on the pre_release, and after this training period they distribute their final version via the SAS auto_update. The Mod. on this forum must have much more information about this. BTW i am still waiting for the renewed SAB version ... Happy new year to all .... Berny +++ Thanks. I will wait for an official response then.
22. Hello, You can (1) proceed a manual uninstall/reninstall or (2) wait for till SAS is prompting for an auto_update Kind regards Berny +++ Any ETA on when the auto_update will be posted?
23. Hi! Is it me or is there no internal update to install v4.24.1004 over my installed v4.23.1006? Thank you in advance.
24. I did as I said "I did let SAS send the two DLL files to report FPs." in my original post.
