  1. Thanks siliconman01. You made a good point. I will keep SAS Pro running in the background just watching over things, and use the free version of MBAM in case of a problem. Much obliged.
  2. I have been a paid user of SAS Pro since 2007. Obviously, I am a satisfied customer. The program runs perfectly with no complaints from me. So now my question: Since I use SAS Pro in conjunction with Microsoft's MSE, do I also need to use the program Malwarebytes Antimalware (MBAM) or is that just overkill? I ask because I always see discussions about that utility in other forums, but with no conclusive discussion about usefulness. There seems to be a 50-50 consensus. Thanks for everyone's time. Great product (SAS Pro) and great forum . . . . Jeff
  3. I purchased SAS Pro on October 1, 2007 and I couldn't be more pleased with a utility. I downloaded and installed every pre-release before the final version 4 and they also all worked perfectly. It seems some people here on the forum have a few problems with SAS (stopping programs from running?!, deleting files?!, etc.), but I have never encountered any of them. Maybe I'm just lucky and I don't go looking for trouble. I'm not denying that some of these problems do occur, but I tend to think that a few of these problems have nothing to do with SAS and are caused by something else. SAS Pro has performed perfectly for me for the past 6 months. Thanks for a great product.
  4. The final version, finally. Believe it or not, it was a little fun loading each pre-release and then checking them out. Now we have a terrific product. Congrats to all on the SAS Pro team. So, when does version 5 come out? (Just kidding, JUST KIDDING!) Thanks for a nice utility.
  5. I agree with Seth. Although I am not the owner of a computer repair business, I, too, stopped using Spybot and Ad-Aware on my home computer. I am using SAS Pro (v4 pre-releases) and it is working beautifully. Can't wait for the final version 4.
  6. By the number of posts on this forum, there seems to be several problems and complaints about SAS, some legitimate and, unfortunately, perhaps some not. So, to stir the pot a little, I again want to thank the SAS team for giving us a terrific program. I tried it out 3 months ago, purchased a license for SAS Pro one day later (money well spent), and have had no problems since then. The little SAS Pro icon (crab? ladybug? beetle?) sits in my system tray and simply does its job. However, as good as SAS is, it cannot fix everything if you are careless. If you continue to visit dubious websites, and download questionable software, no utility in the world will take away your self-made problems. I have UNinstalled Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D, and use SAS Pro exclusively along with my anti-virus. That turned out to be a wise and successful decision for me. Perhaps many of you have done similar. Maybe posting your successes with SAS on this forum will help others, and purchasing a Pro version will show support. Just be careful where you visit, what you download, read SAS's extensive help section, and let SAS work for you. I hope I haven't insulted anyone. Flame me if you must. I can take it. I am a retired teacher from a New York City (Brooklyn) high school. After 34 years of that, nothing much bothers me any longer. Thanks again for a terrific product.
  7. The following error message appeared twice after scanning, but not successively. Once about a week ago, and then again just about an hour ago. Otherwise, my SAS Pro is running fine. (I use XP SP2 Home.) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks . . . Jeff SUPERAntiSpyware has encountered a problem and needs to close. Error Signature: AppName: superantispyware.exe AppVer: ModName: ntdll.dll ModVer: 5.1.2600.2180 Offset: 00010f83
  8. nosirrah and fatdcuk -- Thanks for your responses. I have been using CA Anti-Virus since 2001 when it was originally known as Inoculate and then EZ-Antivirus. At that time CA was a great company with terrific software, but it has gone downhill somewhat since the big fallout with Wang and Sanjay. CA Anti-Virus is very aggressive and its updates are frequent, sometimes several times a day (I have it set for auto updates). Their support, on the other hand is terrible, awful, and essentially non-existent. I guess I stick with it because I'm used to it and my subscription runs out in June 2008. Probably, I will change my AV at that time. I purchased SAS Pro because I gave up Ad-Aware and SpyBot. Those two programs became bloated, intrusive, and do not offer sufficient real-time protection. However, I was just wondering how SAS Pro compares to CA's new Anti-Spyware. It is, indeed, PestPatrol in different clothing, and probably with not much improvement. They both (SAS and CA Anti-Spyware) serve the same function, but I do like SAS Pro's numerous updates, real-time protection without being intrusive, and it's great support (lacking with any CA product). Thanks again.
  9. I use CA Anti-Virus and am satisfied with it, despite some criticism and it's unfamiliarity with a lot of people. I also purchased SUPERAntispyware Pro. I was just wondering if anyone is familiar with CA's CA Anti-Spyware and how it stacks up with SUPERAntispyware. It would be nice to hear opinions from both user-members and from the people at SAS. Thank you . . . Jeff
  10. Just this past Friday, I installed the SAS Pro to try it out for the 15 day trial period. Well, that didn't last long. I just payed for it plus lifetime updates. SUPERAntiSpyware is just as it reads: SUPER. Like most everyone else, I used SpyBot and Ad-Aware, but those utilities became bloated, intrusive (especially the new Ad-Aware), and not very accurate. So, I tried SAS, and three days later I purchased it, and then removed SpyBot and Ad-Aware from my computer. Your product and support are top-notch. When I first tried SAS, I needed some information and I received an answer withing about 30 minutes. It's tough to beat that. Thanks for SUPERAntiSpyware, and thanks for superior support.
