    Problem updating SAS in Vista

Thanks. I will try this the next time there is a program update.
  2. I have a copy of SAS Professional (lifetime subscription) on two different computers running WinXP Home. When I get a pop up saying that an updated version is available all I have to do is click on the link, saying "install now" and it gets installed. I also have a copy of SAS Professional running on my Vista machine. When an updated version becomes available, I get the same pop up notification. However, when I click on the link to install in Vista, I am told that I have insufficient privilege to run the update. I am the administrator, but I still get this reply. The only work around that I have found is to go to the SAS homepage, download a new copy of SAS, uninstall the old one on my pc and install the new version. Is there any way I can update Vista the same way I update XP?
  3. When running SAS Pro, I take the check mark out of First Chance Prevention because if I don't every time Vista wakes SAS wants to check for new updates and to run. Even though I take the check mark out, SAS puts it back in again. How can I make this option stick?
  4. I think I read a post about this some where, but can't seem to find it now. I just got a new computer. I have two lifetime licenses -one for my computer and one for my wife's computer. My question is: Can I transfer my license from my old computer to my new one? I understand that I will probably have to un-install the one from the old computer first.
  5. Seth, Thanks for your reply. I am a happy camper once again. I love SAS. It is fast, through and not a resource hog. But I was getting frustrated with the lag in shutdown and startup times. Your suggestion was right on. I disabled First Chance Prevention and now start up and shut down times are back to normal.
  6. Has anyone else noticed that SAS causes significant lag in shut down and start up times in WinXP?
  7. I woke up this morning to find an updated version of SAS had been downloaded to both my computers and was waiting to be installed. The install went flawlessly and very fast. Since I have been very happy with the product previously, I am sure that I will be even happier with this version since it is supposed to scan faster. Thanks staff at SAS.

    Version 3.5

I got it as an automatic update today. Thanks
  9. Just an update. When I looked at the front of SAS under Definition Data Base Version - where it shows last scan, it appeared not to be working (it was several days behind). However when I looked at the scan logs, it was scanning on schedule. Puzzle? Anyway, I changed the scan every day time from 3:00 A.M. to 4:00 A.M., and it appears to be working correctly now. Thanks.
  10. Guess I spoke too soon. I am running v 3.4. For the last couple of days the scheduled scan did not work. On my computer the last scan was 12/12/06. It is scheduled to scan every day at 3:00 A.M.
  11. Version 3.4 works fine. Thank you very much.
  12. I have the same problem. It started just after Nov. 30. At least that is when the last scheduled scan ran, and I have it set to run daily. Automatic updates work, but not scheduled scans run on either of my computers.

    Two copies of SuperAntispyware

Thank you. That is what I had surmised.
  14. I recently purchased 2 licenses for Superantispyware with a lifetime subscription. The copy of SAS on my computer is listed as SAS Professional. The copy on my wife's computer is listed as SAS Free Edition. Both have the proper registration numbers and both work the same way, i.e., schelduled scanning, etc. Why the difference in the designations?
