1. I'm assuming this is the kind of wallpaper you are referring to : http://www.staralliance.com/en/services/tools-and-downloads/wallpaper/ if so, what happens if you turn off the Screensaver ? No difference, then have you selected the wallpaper you want as it says "go to the setting tab in the right-hand corner and choose between the two background images. Then select a clock display style and choose the four cities you want displayed. The changes will apply then immediately in the wallpaper." If this is the incorrect link please provide the correct one. Are you running 32bit ?
2. No SAS is an Anti Spyware scanner AVs look for different things, Win Defender is also a scanner not an AV. I would advise installing MSE (microsoft security esentials) : http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/security-essentials Update and Run Full scan AVs tend to look more for Worms, scanners do not always do this.
3. No worries, but FYI try using Cookienator : http://codefromthe70s.org/cookienator.aspx it stops sites from tracking you.
4. Hi PamJade , Clear your browsers cache, you can do this quickly by holding Shift+Ctrl and tapping Delete, a box will pop up and you can select what you want to remove. Addditionaly you can download Ccleaner free version to see how you get on : http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download shut down your browser and run CCleaner you may be surprised at how much it removes.
5. Hi stu , Can you tell us what you've tried so far ?
6. In the Start menu --- on the Search bar at bottom (maybe different in XP cant remember) --- type MRT --- you should then be presented with a program that says MRT (windows malicious program removal tool - MRT) --- Open this program up and select "View list of malware this tool detects" --- In that list is Sefnit virus. You can then choose to run the Full Scan and see if it detects it.
7. Hi willythemac , Im assuming you have an NVIDIA card installed, if so then it's probably a False Positive but if you want reassurance you could always submit a ticket to SAS customer service here : https://www.superantispyware.com/csr/
8. Mods please move the above post to Suggestions Topic, Thanks
9. Hi Johnny..., The Rescue Scan will automatically increase the cpu/resource usage so it would make little difference if boost was enabled or not.
10. Additional : If you are still unsure type MRT into your search bar on the start menu, open and run full scan will take a while but is designed to pick out root kits and sefnit is on it's list.
11. Hi Mattech , The sefnit trojan doesn't always work straight away depending on the version it can lay dormant until activated by a program or by malicious code injection, the reason your AV didn't pick it up is usually because they look for different things. AVs tend to protect against Worms and wormlike trojans, scanners search out for other malicious trojans it depends on your AV some look for more than others.
12. Kilraha , I understand your concern however if SAS customer... say it's nothing to worry about then you may have to accept this, just make sure you have a decent Anti Virus program running Real time protection and with a built in Behaviour monitor.
13. Does SAS have the ability to scan the behaviour of certain types of persistent malware that adapt themselves to different files/folders ? If not, will it in the future ?
14. Sir Bedevere: ...and that, my liege, is how we know the Earth to be banana shaped. King Arthur: This new learning amazes me, Sir Bedevere. Explain again how sheep's bladders may be employed to prevent earthquakes.

15. Ok try Winkey+R and type services.msc, hide all Microsoft services and uncheck SAScore, apply, ok then restart your system, it certainly doesn't run in mine.
16. Hi slswyoming , Open a Run box by holding the Winkey+R and type "msconfig" without quotes, select start up tab and uncheck SAS from there, you will still be able to use it but it will no longer be on start up which should allow you to run Adobe software.
17. Hi Jones500 , Download the free version again then remove using Revo uninstaller in Advanced mode : http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html use the free version of Revo, Remove SAS through this program then try installing the trial version of SAS.
18. Firstly a big <h2>HELLO</h2> to everyone, first time on this site although have skipped by in the past reading a few entries here and there. Secondly, what are the Rules regarding bad language, embed codes etc... ?
19. Hi Gearyboy and others , If its a reappearing trojan the best thing to do would be to momentarily turn off System Restore, then run SAS in safe mode, restart, re-run SAS if no trojans are found turn on System Restore and run SAS one last time.
