  3. Hello. In my old updated 64-bit W7 HPE SP1 PC, SUPERAntiSpyware v8.0.1838 (free) says these downloaded files are infected with Trojan.Agent/Gen-Dropper: https://the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/latest/w64/putty.exe ftp://ftp.chiark.greenend.org.uk/users/sgtatham/putty-latest/w64/putty.exe https://the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/latest/w32/putty.exe ftp://ftp.chiark.greenend.org.uk/users/sgtatham/putty-latest/w32/putty.exe They were from https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/latest.html web page to download. Are these false positives? I hope so! Thank you for reading and hopefully answering soon.

  5. Just a FYI: when we deploy a definition update, there are usually a lot of changes rolled into it -- often including updates that are not mentioned specifically in the auto-generated release "notes" of additions and updates. The latest release includes all of the pending changes that have been queuing up since last week. We haven't lost any of the research work done since the problem began.
  6. Geoff, Thanks for the update. I just tried and the 15436 update from 4/8/2019 came in!
  7. Hi Everybody, I think we're back on track with the definition update process. We had a pretty serious issue which needed some thought and development. Thanks again for your patience. Regards, Geoff

    Hello!

Hello to everyone here. I came here looking for an answer to a query and ended up joining the forum. I found the answer I was looking for too! Zena

    What is Version 8.0.1038?

Interesting! If I click on "What's New in this Release" using the icon in the Notification Area, it still shows version 8.0.1034! Like you, I'm actually running version 8.0.1038. Very odd! Zena
  10. I had the same thing too, but not now. Yesterday, I updated to version 8.0.1038 and since then the 2nd pop-up shown in NotNull's post above no longer appears even after a reboot. The first pop-up shown appeared after I ran a Quick Scan, but there's now a tick box underneath the pop-up which gives the option to tick "Don't Show Me This Again". You get this option whether or not anything's been found. This is in the Free version and the update to the latest version gets rid of the irritation! So somebody took notice of the complaint and did something about it - thank you! No need to uninstall as far as I'm concerned. Zena

    What is Version 8.0.1038?

I see that the website has now been changed. Thanks!
  12. Geoff, Thank you for the update.
  13. Hi KEL1, The dev team is still working on it. Sorry, I have no additional details to provide at this time. My understanding is that it is a somewhat more involved problem than previously anticipated. Thanks for your patience! Geoff
  14. Any updates on when the definitions will be updating again?
  15. Today , April 10, 2019 , I was at Version 8.0.1034. I got a pop-up message that there was an update to the program. After applying the update the Version changed to 8.0.1038. However your website states that the newest version is 8.0.1036? So , what is 8.0.1038???? Thank you!

New Popup ("Tech Issues Solved Daily") Can't be Turned Off?

I got a reply to an email saying 'we're going to remove this from the software.' I told them to let me know when they do, as I've had to uninstall it. On a related note, Kaspersky Free seems to run faster than SAV...just saying. larry
  17. Can you please give us the ability to turn this ad thing off? This is like having an adblocker addon serve you up ads. No. No thanks. Stop. Whoever brought this up in a meeting was wrong. Bad wrong. The ones that said your loyal users would be peeoed and ditch you were right. I have really liked your product for second opinion and quick file scans. I still want to be friends and paid for you in the past for a computer but you are testing our friendship. Push a release that lets us turn this off or we split. thanks, mainer

New Popup ("Tech Issues Solved Daily") Can't be Turned Off?

No response from tech support means (to me, at least) that this is the new 'normal'. Just uninstalled SuperAnti, going to another product. Too intrusive. Larry

New Popup ("Tech Issues Solved Daily") Can't be Turned Off?

In the same boat as everyone. This pop up is annoying and really if this is the path that you are taking, I’m done. You have now become the one you fought against.
  20. SAS Admin should keep better company. This is the kind of crap I'm paying to keep off my computer, not introduce me to it. :( https://quttera.com/detailed_report/support.com http://www.reputationauthority.org/domain_lookup.php?ip=support.com&ipvalid=&Submit.x=20&Submit.y=11
  21. Hi Cyberchief, Sorry for the delay in the response. We've been having some issues with our definition release infrastructure and we're working on getting it resolved. I haven't heard of an ETA on when this will get fixed but I assure you our team is giving it top priority. Regards, Geoff

New Popup ("Tech Issues Solved Daily") Can't be Turned Off?

Could you tell us how to contact the Admin team?
  23. The definition updates have not occurred since Friday. I know there is a weather problem but, what's the deal with the updates? The definition was 15433 on Thursday and it changed to 15435 on Friday and it has been that way since. Any possible explanation? Any sort of Notice would be appreciated.
  24. I just can't explain but after I've installed SAS, my internet turns off regularly. Provider says it's ok on his side. Could it be a kind of connection between network working and antivirus software?
  25. Ok after rummaging round various settings, regedits, alternate starts etc, it appears to be built into the very application itself and is directly involved with support.com tech help this only showing on the free version however, the subscribed version is not affected. How long the ad(s) last for I have no idea it may be just until the next update but a member of the Admin team would know more. Sorry I can't be more help here.
  26. Same here. Since updating to the latest program version, every PC start up and every scan results in that pop up. I've tried turning on Game mode and it still pops up. Running Windows 10.
  27. Here you go - now there are two separate ones. I ran a quick scan, just critical infection points, and when it finished the first pop up came. Took a shot and after I got it into mspaint the second pop up appeared without me doing anything else so I took a shot of that as well. Just used the PrintScreen key to take the shots and copied the popups out of that to their own png. Let me know if you need more - I'll be on and offline for a bit but I'll check for sure tomorrow after work (West Coast USA time).
  28. Can you take a screen shot of the offending article and upload it please.
