I have been a paid user of SASPro for some time now and just discovered today that the program UPDATE function doesn't check for NEW versions of the MAIN program, just the definitions. I found I've been running 5.1 instead of any version of 5.5 for some time now even tho' I was aware of the newer versions.

I assumed (I know; I know; never assume ) that UPDATE meant UPDATE of both program and definitions, not just definitions. Even more embarrassing I am the co-Moderator of MBAM's Software Forums (with Gordon; hayc59) and see his UPDATE posts regularly but assumed (yeah; yeah) MY SASPro *was* being updated automatically.

Any way to add this functionality for paid Pro users?? Or at least as an option??

In Preferences>Updates have you ticked the boxes for "Periodically check for application updates" and "Automatically install application updates"?

On a more serious note, the idiots that try to destroy our computers don't seem to take holidays - nor do they have SUNDAYS OFF.

Well, it seems that SAS has improved the updates over weekends : I could see updates yesterday as well as today !
Let's hope that this isn't a "one shot" and that it will stay like this ...

Got 8279 released on the 25th (Saturday) but nothing Sunday or today (27th) so far.

I totally agree with your comment, even more as I'm using the Pro version and as this issue happens now every weekend !
I really would like to know why this is so ... and I'm sure that I'm not the only one ...

If an official from SAS could explain that situation, it would be great !

I first raised this question way back in October.

Again, as I was using the free version, I was reluctant to make too much of a fuss.

However, free or not, weekend updates are needed and as you are using the Pro version you are probably more annoyed than me.

As you can see, I didn't get any replies!

Got a notification of another programme update today (further to the 5.0.1144 release). Duly installed it but version still shows as 5.0.1144.

Release log has still not been updated.

What does the latest update entail?
