It's version 5.0, so is not an "older build" - meaning it's the 5.0 platform - all the 5.x releases are on the same code base and have improvements.

When you say 'same code base' what are the differences between 5.x and 4.x primarily ?

There are thousands of changes, way too many to list. The review is based on the 5.0 platform. 5.0 has been out for over a year, so not sure what 4.0 has to do with this thread.

What I meant was, if the 5.x platform is the same code base for all 5.x.xxx then surely the 4.x platform was of a different code base.

So is the code base to do with definitions or to do with the structure of the program, i.e. how it detects and removes malware ?

Other than some problems with the latest product update experienced by a few friends of mine, I have never had an issue with SAS, and it's about time that a product that actually does what it says,, gets the credit it deserves.
