I downloaded SAS specifically to counter what appears to be my hijacked email account. I am receiving returned emails (bad addresses) that I did not send. My local computer tech recommended SAS. I ran a full-system scan. It found 542 adware cookies. All were quarantined or deleted. Is it likely that I have solved the problem?

Welcome to the SAS forum.
Most email account hacks are not a result of an infection on the computer. In those cases, programs such as SAS have nothing to find in relation to the hacked email account.
Your options are to change your email password or create a new email account. Also keep in mind that email hacks may include theft of your email address book. As such, those accounts may be spammed.
