  1. Stumped? Well, I noticed this morning that SAS wasn't running on my laptop when I opened it this morning, so I went to open it from the Start menu (Win7 64 bit) and when I clicked on SAS Professional, it gave me the error, "The item 'SUPERAntiSpyware.exe' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly. Do you want to delete this shortcut? Yes No" Wondering what has happened to my program. ?
  2. Don, As I stated in my first post, there is no {ED1FC765-E35E-4C3D-BF15-2C2B11260CE4} in a path under HKU. Here is what I see: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ge7nwg6r12122qa/winshell%20don.jpg?dl=0
  3. Geoff, No. Here is what I find: https://www.dropbox.com/s/wqgcz93tvut283l/winshell.jpg?dl=0
  4. Hi, I have found Malware.Trace in my recent scans. I had it removed once, but now I see it again. I am posting a copy of the log below. When I open Regedit to see if I can figure out what it is from the registry, I cannot find the line to WINLOGON SHELL (because I cannot find the string listed between the "{ }'s" in the SAS log) in HKU\S-1-5-21-1025616775-32965946-2427245248-1008-{ED1FC765-E35E-4C3D-BF15-2C2B11260CE4}-0\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS NT\CURRENTVERSION\WINLOGON#SHELL ...but I can find WINLOGON SHELL under HKU\S-1-5-21-1025616775-32965946-2427245248-1008\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS NT\CURRENTVERSION\WINLOGON#SHELL .No other program I use (NIS, Malwarebytes, CCleaner) is picking this up. Could this be a false positive? 5. I ended up rebooting my computer. Well, actually, it rebooted itself as soon as I ended the program from Task Manager. After the reboot, I didn't experience SAS starting up by itself each time it came out out of sleep yesterday evening. Just a few minutes ago, it updated itself and am now running version 5.6.1020. I'll see how that goes.
  6. Hi. I'm using the paid version of SAS, which is 5.6.1014 on Windows 7 64-bit. Every time I open my laptop from sleeping, SAS starts running in the background, but you cannot see it in the taskbar. Windows gives me a warning that the program is using a lot of my resources. NIS is also giving me a warning with their Performance Alert that it's using 100% of one of my CPU's. I have to go into Windows Task Manager in order to shut it down, but it starts itself again each time Windows comes out of sleep again. I tried opening the program from the start menu to see if there was something checked to make it scan on its own, maybe if I missed a scheduled scan or something and it's attempting to make up for that, but I can't tell because after I end the program (from Task Manager) and then I start it up from the Start menu (and CAN see it in my taskbar at that time), I cannot get the program to open the main screen at all. If I right click on the icon, it does nothing. If I click on the icon, it does nothing. I cannot open the program to see the settings. As of right now, it's using over 600,000 KB of memory and continues to grow as long as it's running. Any suggestions as to what could be causing this? Thanks.
  7. I've not experienced this problem since I posted here last, so I have not uninstalled the program. But, something that I just noticed this morning that I've not seen before is that I'm getting a long string (87234c26-8636-4077-8404-73425bf5909a.com) listed as a Process running in my Task Manager and it's description is SuperAntiSpyware. Is this something new? Do I need to post this as a new topic?
  8. Since the past couple of days, my SAS has been using 100% of my processor and I've had to end the SAS process in order to use my computer. I am running Windows 7, 64 bit. My version of SAS is 5.0.1128 Core 7764 Trace 5576 10/4/2011. I have the paid Professional version (Lifetime). When it does this, if I look in the "Show Hidden Icons" section of the Windows Tray, it's not there as it normally is when it's running. Is anyone else having this problem and what should I do to stop it from freezing up my system? Thank you. *=)
